Why Directional Core Drilling Matters
DCD technology enables drillers to steer boreholes accurately toward one or multiple targets, even if the initial path deviates. This precision ensures reliable core samples and efficient operations, reducing the need for multiple boreholes. For complex exploration programs like this, accuracy and reliability are critical.
About the Project
The site is located roughly 400 kilometres north of the Arctic Circle, at Norway’s largest copper deposit. The objective is to explore a potential new ore body by drilling six branch holes. Positive results could unlock a much larger area for future exploration and infill drilling.
Challenging Conditions
The drill site sits high in the mountains where our field teams travel in all seasons. Harsh weather, strong winds, and limited daylight make this work demanding. Despite these conditions, our field team have shown exceptional resilience.
Looking Ahead
We’re eager to see the results and the opportunities they may create for further mineral exploration with directional core drilling in Norway.
