Client Challenges & Objectives

Unplanned blasthole deviation up to 0.75m caused over-break, under-break, fragmentation and dilution. This reduced efficiency in ore recovery requiring corrective measures such as operational slots which increased operating costs.

Magnetic survey tools were generating inaccurate results and increasing operational complexity due to the requirement for cranes and additional personnel.

In cases of significant borehole deviation, blast efficiency can drop to 65%, and dilution can increase from the planned 1.0m up to 1.5m.
