Evolving with Purpose: IMDEX’s Sustainability Strategy

As a company deeply embedded in resource exploration and mining, IMDEX is uniquely positioned to help lead the transformation toward more sustainable mining operations and responsible resource recovery. Our FY25 journey reflects how we’re embracing that opportunity.

Two key deliverables stood out this year as implementing a step change in our ESG focus:

  • A gap analysis against the Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (ASRS) mandatory climate disclosures (S2), strengthening our approach to climate risk management and ensuring readiness for mandatory climate reporting.
  • A comprehensive double materiality assessment, sharpening our focus on ESG priorities and aligning our strategy with what matters most to our stakeholders.


That materiality assessment has helped inform the evolution of our strategy, which has been fundamentally shaped by the expectations of our stakeholders, the mining industry and the communities we serve. Our refreshed approach is built around four key pillars:

  • Product Leadership – Developing smarter technologies that reduce environmental impact
  • Sustainable Customer Solutions – Helping our clients meet their ESG goals
  • Workforce of the Future – Building a skilled, safe and inclusive global team
  • Strong Foundations – Strengthening governance, compliance and transparency


In addition to these two key deliverables in FY25, we also continued our work in uncovering and documenting the stories that make our ESG journey so unique. These stories show how sustainability is being integrated across our business, from product design to community engagement, and how our global teams are driving real impact.


Here are just a few highlights from FY25:

💡 9.4% of revenue invested in Research and Development (R&D) - recognising the demand for solutions to improve productivity and sustainability in mining and resource exploration.

📉 A better understanding of our emissions footprint - we have worked hard to improve our emissions data collection and while we still have some way to go, we’re committed to continuous improvement.

🤝 847 hours of employee volunteering - from mentoring programs to community clean-ups, our people are making a difference in the regions where we operate.

98% HSE training compliance - and a continued reduction in injury rates, showing our commitment to safety and wellbeing.

🌍 Expanded Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) strategy and cultural initiatives - because building a sustainable future means creating a workplace where everyone belongs.

These aren’t just numbers; they’re part of our journey to integrate sustainability across every level of our business, from product design to community engagement. Our people, from engineers and field teams to corporate functions, are the driving force behind this progress. Their contributions, insights, and commitment are what make our sustainability journey real and impactful.
